Lakshmi is betrayed by her own family. And is left alone on a new world a bad world a world of prostitution. Knowing that her own stepfather but her here would be hard.  She made close relationships at the house people going through similar things as her. She belived her stepfather when he told her she was working as a maid and to these jobs are completely different. She is forced to leave her childhood and is forced to mature fast, and that's hard.
